How to hide inactive and older devices

In some cases, when a device is replaced, the older device will still show in the views and may skew your report/view data. The most effective way to handle this is using the Filter feature combined with groups, grouping devices to hide or show, and also the active time period you are looking at.

There are 3 different ways to accomplish this task using filters.

  1. Filter - In Group: This option will only include devices from the selected group for your view or report.  It would require you to create a group for all active devices.
  2. Filter - Not in Group: This option will exclude devices from the selected group for your view or report. It would require you to create a group for all inactive devices.
  3. Filter - Active: This option allows you to narrow the time period. If a device was replaced last week and you do not want to see it any more, you can shorten the active time period to not have the old device in your views or reports.

When a filter is active, it will appear as a red color indicating the information you see in your Views is not all of the possible data to be seen. Always remember, if you can't find what you are looking for, check to see if a filter is activated.

Clearing a filter:
Select Filter and press "Clear" to set it to the default values.
