It is important to know how a Data Collector is installed, not only for your information but also for the Support team. There are 2 options to choose from, either PC or Server; which are purely informational. This information will be referenced if there are issues or concerns with data collection information irregularities.

PC: The PC settings indicates the Data Collector is installed on a user-type device that may be turned off at the end of the day. Concern = Possible lost time of data collection and late reporting on low supplies.

Server: This setting helps indicate that the Data Collector is installed on a server-type device that will be on and operational 100% of the time. Concern = 100% up-time provides more data collection and accurate reporting on low supplies.

How to define installation:
Confirming the installation type in the Data Collector settings online, is done under Admin>Networks and choosing the magnifying glass of your Data Collector. You can then provide a way for account users, and the support team, to see how it is installed.
