What credentials are required for the Data Collector?

How the “start” process works in the Data Collector.

“Start” the Data Collector – The user credentials used on the server need to have Internet access because the Data Collector will first receive an ID file from the Web Service.

The ID file will be saved in the library where the Data Collector is installed. The Data Collector service is not started at this point, so it is not possible to use the credentials defined in the Data Collector service.

Then the credentials defined in the Data Collector service are used. If proxy settings are needed, the proxy settings defined in the Data Collector are used.

The user needs to have rights to access the Internet using HTTP port 80 and HTTPS port 443.

If the Data Collector cannot be started, add the full link to the server in the customer's firewall:

https://jadcws.jetadvice.com/v2/service1.svc or the IP of the JetAdvice server: 213.150.45.252

Use the troubleshooting feature in the Data Collector's Help menu to help getting the Data Collector started.
