If you have the Data Collector installed on a laptop to discover and collect printers on your own network and then take your laptop to a customer's network, the Data Collector may discover and collect printers on the customer's network.

You define which network ranges to discover and scan for printers.

If the customer has exactly the same network ranges as defined in your local network then your Data Collector will discover and collect the printers on the customer's network.

To avoid this, you can open the Data Collector and stop the Data Collector service.

We recommend installing the Data Collector on a server or PC in your network that is not powered off or moved around to other locations.
