The reason the two; JetAdvice Data Collector (JADC) and JetAdvice Edge, cannot run at the same time is due to the order in which the data arrives in JetAdvice Manager.

The data collector (JADC) sends data as soon as it reads it from the device during a Collect phase which happens every 3 hours. whereas the Edge connector will potentially batch and compress the data before sending it up to an hour after it has been read (depending upon priority).

If the two tools are monitoring the same device, the data collector (JADC) may see new supplies first but Edge connector still has the old supply one and detected change to the new supply waiting to send. This causes data inconsistencies and can cause duplicate supplies, multiple supply orders/detecting multiple supply changes, counters not in sequence etc, and we do not want that :-)

That is why we do not allow both of them to run at the same time.
